2018 DECA Winners at CareerTech

Students from Franklin County Career and Technology Center (CareerTech) earned awards at the annual district DECA competition on December 20, 2018, at the Four Points Sheraton in Harrisburg.

DECA, an association made up of Marketing students, is a career and technical student organization designed to enhance specific career objectives in marketing, management, business or distribution.  More than 150 students from Carlisle, Dauphin County, Franklin County, Littlestown, Northern and Reading high schools competed.

“DECA is a positive organization where students get a chance to prove their abilities through competition and demonstrate leadership skills,” said Susan Mills, DECA adviser and marketing instructor at CareerTech.

Local students from CareerTech winning awards were:

Reuben Giles, Shippensburg senior, first place in Job Interview, Hannah Moats, CMS senior, 1st place in Food Service Marketing, Samantha Cantrell, CMS senior, 2nd place Logistics and Material Handling, Jarred Moquin, JB senior, 2nd place in Job Interview, Dusty-Lee Laughery and Alex Kennedy, both CMS seniors, 2nd place in  Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making
