Students from Franklin County Career and Technology Center (CareerTech) earned awards at the annual district DECA competition on December 1, 2015, at the Four Points Sheraton in Harrisburg.
DECA, an association made up of Marketing students, is a career and technical student organization designed to enhance specific career objectives in marketing, management, and business. More than 250 students from Carlisle, Dauphin County, Dover, Berks Catholic, Franklin County, Littlestown, Northern, Carlisle and Reading high schools competed.
KaLara Thomas, DECA Chapter President stated, “DECA allows students to compete with other DECA members and enhance their leadership skills and confidence”.

Kaitlyn Swenson, Shippensburg Area School District – 2nd place in Business Services Marketing
Taryn Cook, Career Magnet School , 2nd place in Principles of Marketing
Abigail Myers, Career Magnet School, 3rd place in Principles of Marketing
Ruth Felix, Career Magnet School, 3rd place in Restaurant Food Service Management
Grace Drew, Waynesboro Area School District, 3rd place in Automotive Services
