An instructional program that provides learning experiences in stick and gas arc metal welding (MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), flux cored welding and oxyacetylene and plasma torch cutting of metals. Students learn safety practices and uses of electrodes and welding rods; properties of metals; blueprint reading; welding symbols and welding standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS).

Program Requirements and Expectations
Students are required to have ankle height or higher genuine leather work boots (steel toes OK but not mandatory). No wet shoes at any time.
All Welding safety gear is provided, i.e. safety glasses, gloves, protective welding coat, helmets, ear plugs, etc.
No holes, tears or frays allowed on any clothing. No polyester clothing permitted. No wet clothes permitted.
Students are not permitted to carry lighters or matches.
Long hair MUST be tied back.
Students may not wear a wrist watch, rings, dangling chains or earrings.
No pants with cuffs permitted.
